On daily basis, people living in and around Ghana?s coastal communities undertake livelihood activities on most surface waters within their catchment areas. To undertake an in-depth water quality analysis of these surface and underground waters, the C2R-CD project has deployed many scientific tools including the use of Horiba U-50 Series Multi-Parameter Water Quality Meter to measure in its original state and place, their intrinsic physical and chemical characteristics.

The physico-chemical parameters being analysed , including, but not limited to, temperature, pH, conductivity,  salinity, dissolved oxygen concentration, and total dissolved solids. Biological parameters including pathogenic agents causing diarrhoea and biochemical oxygen demand are being analysed in the laboratory.

The goal is to identify trends and seasonal variations in water quality within the project catchment areas.
